Emily’s practice draws inspiration from the naturalistic sensibilities of the Victorian era—an age defined by sentimentality, reverence for nature, and meticulous craftsmanship. While deeply informed by tradition, she both honours and questions it, reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens that echoes the familiarity of family heirlooms reimagined for a playful modern world.

Her intricately carved pieces embrace slow, labour-intensive processes reminiscent of Victorian lapidarists. Inspired by the natural decay of treasured objects and the organic beauty of fossils and stone, Emily employs other ancient jewellery making techniques such as lost-wax and cuttlefish casting to create pieces that feels timeless yet raw, mirroring cycles of fragility and renewal both historically and in the natural world.
